Traditional Warm Air FurnaceTraditional Warm Air Furnaces use oil or gas to heat up air, and then distribute the warm air through ducts. Modern Oil furnaces operate at approximately %80 efficiency to about %83. Modern Gas Furnaces operate at approximately %90 efficiency. There
are also furnaces that can use either oil or gas. The savings in fuel expense from the improved efficiency is often incentive enough to warrant replacement of a working but inefficient system.
